On the occasion of its fifth birthday, Nero Gallery moves to the center of Rome, in a timeless space, the furnace of Canova22, with the collective exhibition VISIONARY, which will be held from 18 May to 15 June 2019.
On show 9 artists from the contemporary pop surrealist and symbolist scene:

The artists will present more than twenty unpublished works, ranging from classical techniques such as oil painting and sculpture, to the use of new technologies, such as digital art and video installations.
With this Group show, Nero Gallery celebrates the freedom of imagination by bringing it to its extreme expression, a visionary fantasy that can lead to madness.
The term “visionary” is used in fact to define who has mystical visions, such as religious or supernatural apparitions, or visual hallucinations. By extension, a “visionary” is one who considers possible or true the constructs of imagination, things that are not real or that are unrealizable. The idealist who follows a crazy revolutionary project can be said to be “visionary”, or the neighbor convinced that his garden is populated by elves, the artist with great visual imagination or suffering from mental disorders, who indulges in dreamlike, hallucinated, extraordinary apparitions.
VISIONARY is an exhibition that moves in the balance along the thin line between dream and madness and pushes us into a hallucinatory dimension in which everything is deformed, a world in which reality is put to the test and our creative mind can finally have free outburst.
Our impression will be to immerse ourselves in a dream with open eyes, in an altered state of consciousness which for artists represents a form of possession, which helps them to express suffering in the artistic product, thus giving relief to the torments of the mind. The artist is possessed by the demon of inspiration and this possession is also his salvation. The task of the spectator will be to let himself be possessed, thus entering a world other than the real one, a vision from which his everyday life will be strongly disturbed.
